SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE (PNA) — Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chair Martin Diño has disclosed his proposed development projects for the Subic Bay Freeport Zone amounting to P140 billion.
During the recently concluded Multi-Sectoral Forum on Energy Sector Innovations through the use of Alternative Fuels and Energy Technologies organized by the Department of Energy and the Philippine Information Agency here, Diño said that the SBMA “has been one of the foundations of our country in economic growth (and) job creation, and (serves as a) catalyst of national and local development.”
His proposed projects include the 25-30 kilometer bypass road for cargo trucks connecting Castillejos town in Zambales to Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway; the 65-kilometer Subic-Mariveles Highway; and the “Green Industrial SBMA” project, which will need 150,000 employees.
Diño also said that the Subic agency is eyeing the reopening of the Subic International Airport and the expansion of the Subic Port; construction of wind turbines as source of alternative energy; and expansion of Tipo Road.
Moreover, he reiterated to help President Rodrigo Duterte in his all-out campaign against criminality and corruption especially in SBMA.
