MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) has received ISO 9001:2015 certification, an international standard which signifies compliance with the latest requirements for quality management system.
AFAB Chairman and Administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda said they received the certification after an audit of the agency’s management and administrative services related to business registration, import-export, and workforce control processes for the Freeport Area of Bataan.
ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system for organizations that need to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
The standard also aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
“Today, the AFAB renders the best and fastest registration services, improved import-export processes and high-end and quality labor services,” Pineda announced in a statement.
He said that just six years after it started operations, AFAB has already established its management systems, thus assuring registered business locators, as well as potential investors and key stakeholders that it will address all their requirements for their businesses.
“The ISO certification of the AFAB management systems validated the tireless efforts of the employees of the authority to give the best services to our locators,” he said, adding that the certification process had made the agency “more competitive.”
“The Authority’s success also reflects the untiring support of the FAB locators to our administration,” he stressed.
With the certification of its management system, AFAB is now preparing for the certification of other services in the free port, Pineda added.
“We at the AFAB are confident that we can offer the most reliable services to our stakeholders, and we will strive to continuously improve our services to support the operations of the FAB locators,” the chairman vowed.
The ISO management system certification and audit for AFAB was conducted by TUV Rheinland, a leading provider of technical services worldwide.
HELP FOR MARAWI
Meanwhile, Pineda also announced the support extended by AFAB and its registered locators to crisis-affected residents in Marawi City under the “One with Marawi” relief operation program and the “Bangon Marawi “campaign of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The AFAB donated relief items like powdered milk, canned and bottled goods, crackers and biscuits, instant coffee, cereal drinks and instant noodles.
Meanwhile, export-quality shoe manufacturer Boast Inc. donated 1,000 pairs of shoes manufactured at its FAB production plant, while its employees donated hygiene kits that included toothbrush, toothpaste, napkins, body soap, shampoo, cotton and medical adhesive strips.
Pineda also said that Grand Innovasia Concept Corp. (GICC), which houses business process outsourcing firms here, gave away 20 pieces of 10-MW and 30-MW solar panels with 42 pieces of LED lights and batteries, while luxury bags producer BAGSPC donated boxes of bottled water.
